The most innovative products, design trends and green technologies can be found in The New American Home, the official showcase house built each year in conjunction with the International Builder’s Show. Sierra Pacific supplied environmentally-friendly wood window and door products for the 2009 home.

The New American Home 2009® is a near net zero energy home that includes active solar design (photovoltaic cells), passive solar design (orientation and shading),  an insulated concrete wall system, a revolutionary natural gas powered mechanical HVAC system and energy efficient windows and doors from Sierra Pacific. The house far exceeds conventional resource efficiency standards, achieving a remarkable 76% energy use savings compared to the DOE’s Building America benchmark.

As a result of the combination of sustainable design concepts and building practices and innovative eco-friendly product selection, the home also earned a Gold rating under the NAHB’s Green Building Program.
