All Climate, All Season Window Glass
The clear choice, no matter where you live.
Unlike many glass products on the market today, Cardinal LoDz-272 is the one clear choice. With our patented coatings and superior energy ratings, LoDz-272 delivers the clearest, highest performing glass available today. From cold winter nights to hot summer days, you will enjoy viewing the great outdoors from the energy efficient comfort of your home. And, because LoDz-272 glass blocks most of the sun’s damaging ultraviolet rays, it will help your curtains, carpets, furniture and wall coverings stay beautiful for years to come.
Window glass that can control the weather.
Although windows provide beautiful views and wonderful natural light, they can also account for up to 30 percent of the annual energy consumed in a home. Cardinal
LoDz-272 glass is designed to provide you with year-round savings and comfort by optimizing both the sun’s heat and your home’s heating and cooling systems. In the summer, LoDz-272 keeps your home cool and comfortable by rejecting the sun’s heat and damaging rays. In the winter, LoDz-272 helps your home stay warm and cozy by reflecting heat back into the room.
Think of it as invisible insulation.
Cardinal’s LoDz-272 blocks 84 percent of the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays and delivers a remarkable 96 percent performance improvement in winter nighttime insulation (R-value) compared to non-coated air-filled insulating glass. However, it is virtually invisible to the eye –- just like looking through clear glass. In fact, LoDz-272 is the clearest, highest performing glass you can buy; there’s no haze or bluish cast to mar your view. LoDz-272 even outperforms the tinted glass often used in warm, sunny climates. You see out and the light shines in, with no heavy bronze or smoke-colored tints to darken the personality of your home.
All around comfort, all year long.
If you live in a climate where you heat and air condition, Cardinal LoDz-272 is the best choice you can make. It provides you with unhindered views, substantial savings on both heating and cooling bills and year-round comfort. In addition, many utility companies are now offering rebates for energy efficient window products like LoDz-272.

All Climate Glare Control Window Glass
Cardinal introduces the most impressive scientific advancement in solar control glass in years!
LoDz-240, a tinted version of our finest LoDz insulating glass controls glare, blocks excessive solar gains, and maintains proven year around comfort.
How it works.
Regular tinted glass works by absorbing sunlight. The color of the glass changes with thickness and it gets hot in the sunlight. LoDz-240 is a coating that is applied to clear glass, so the appearance and performance are the same regardless of the glass thickness. LoDz-240 blocks visible light for glare control, reflects invisible solar heat and, because it has a low-emittance coating, the glass stays comfortable all year long – cool in the summer, warm in the winter.
A glass for all seasons.
LoDz-240 is more than a solar control glass. Its advanced coating design also provides the lowest possible U-factor to deliver energy savings and comfort during cold winter weather. Year-round thermal comfort is a result of warm glass temperatures in the winter, cool glass temperatures in the summer, and the blockage of oppressive solar heat gains.
What’s your vision?
If you envision your home benefiting from a “tinted” glass for glare control, LoDz-240 offers the best combination of aesthetic appeal along with energy performance and in-home comfort.

Emissivity: A Measure of a surface's ability to block longwave infrared radiation of room temperature radiant heat energy. The lower the emmissivity the lower the resultant U-value.
U-Value: A measure of the heat flow rate through a window (lower is better).
Solar Heat Gain Coefficient: The amount of solar radiation which enters a building as heat (lower is better).
Shading Coefficient: The ratio of solar heat gain through a glazing to the solar heat gain through a single 1/8" (3mm) clear glass (lower is better).
Ultra Violet (UV) Light Transmission: The amount of UV in the solar spectrum that is transmitted through a window which can cause fading (lower is better).
