Sierra Pacific Bi-fold Windows and Doors glide smoothly to create large openings that transform your living spaces. With panels folding and stacking either to one or both sides of an opening, our Bi-fold products are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The minimal panel stack widths further enhance the clear opening space. |

Bi-fold Window components are manufactured with kiln-dried preservative-treated Douglas Fir, Ponderosa Pine or Knotty Alder.
Interior surfaces are unfinished clear wood ready to prep for stain or paint. An optional factory applied primer coat is available.
Standard Bi-fold Windows consist of 2 5/16" stiles and rails , stiles are constructed using LVL material. Maximum height 84", maximum width 36" and maximum opening of 23'.
The Outswing Bi-fold Window has a sill height of 2 1/8". The material is a combination of an oak interior and extruded bronze aluminum exterior.
The Inswing Bi-fold Window has a sill height of 2 1/8" and is constructed of bronze extruded aluminum. Low profile sills are available for both Inswing and Outswing Bi-fold Windows.

All exposed clad exterior surfaces of the frame head and jambs are covered with .062 extruded aluminum. Extruded aluminum frame corners are sealed with acrylic sealant and foam pads and mechanically fastened. A continuous extruded aluminum nailing flange is an integral part of the frame extrusion. Wood exterior units come with factory applied exterior primer; clear exterior is available upon request The Clad Outswing Bi-fold Window and both Inswing and Outswing wood Bi-Fold Windows require a jamb dimension of 6 9/16". The clad Inswing Bi-fold Window is available starting at 4 9/16". |

Our extruded aluminum exteriors are coated with eco-friendly, no-VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) powder coatings. Powder coatings generate zero hazardous waste during the application process and eliminate the additional energy required to operate thermal oxidizers and scrubbers used to lower VOC emissions common to the wet paint process. Powder coating is an EPA recommended finishing system, contributing to the Green Building Initiative.

Choosing the Correct Glazing System
Today’s architecture features ever increasing expanses of glass to capture views and allow natural light to illuminate interiors. Choosing the correct glazing system (the glass and the spacer between the panes of glass) for your climate, exposure and architectural design is one of the most important decisions you will make during the construction process. Sierra Pacific’s advanced glazing system features a 100% polymer structural foam spacer by Edgetech, (the world’s only NO-Metal TrueWARM® Edge insulating glass spacer) paired with high-performance, spectrally-selective low-E glass.Warm Edge
In order to overcome the thermal inefficiency of conventional aluminum window spacers, a new type of spacer product called warm edge technology has evolved in the window industry. Warm Edge refers to the type of spacer material used to separate the panes of glass in an insulated window unit. If the material conducts less heat or cold at the edge of the glass than a conventional aluminum spacer, it is said to be "warm-edge." Most of these newer window spacers are less conductive and outperform pure aluminum. But there’s still one small problem -- they all contain some kind of metal. And metal is highly conductive. Unlike other so-called "warm" edge spacers that contain steel or aluminum wrapped in butyl rubber, the Edgetech spacer is made of 100% polymer structural foam. The NO-Metal formula conducts less heat and cold than conventional metal spacers and provides the warmest possible edge. The NO-Metal TrueWARM® Edge:
- Assures comfortable humidity levels and reduces worries about condensation and mold
- Resists window condensation
- Reduces energy costs
- Provides long-life durability
- Reduces outside noise transmittance
- Structural thermoset foam spacer reduces the stress on the system therefore reducing stress on the glass which results in less stress cracks and reduces stress on the sealant increasing sealant effectiveness
- Globally tested and proven spacer system
Ideal Glass Performance
The insulating effect of your windows has a direct impact on the comfort factor inside your home or commercial building. Typically 75% of the exposed surface of a window is glass, and the temperature of the interior surface of the glass directly affects the air temperature in the room. The better insulated the glass, the more comfortable the room. According to the Consumer Federation of America, the average American household spends $1,500 per year on energy costs. Energy-efficient windows can help cut these costs. In fact, you can reduce your energy bills by up to one-third by simply using low-emissivity (low-E) insulated glass. Sierra Pacific offers many glass options, including energyefficient, spectrally-selective low-E insulated glass, tinted, obscure and specialty glazings.See our Technical Section for NFRC Thermal Performance Data
High Performance Double Coat Low-E Insulated Glass
Reduce Heating and Cooling LoadsHigh performance insulated glass with two low-E coatings blocks enough solar heat that cooling loads can be cut by 25% or more compared to ordinary low-E and clear glass. The oppressive heat of the sun is composed of visible light and invisible infrared energy. Insulated glass produced with two low-E coatings allows the daylight to pass through the glass and filters out solar heat. In fact, it blocks a large percentage of the sun's harmful ultraviolet rays and delivers a remarkable performance improvement in winter nighttime insulation (R-value) compared to non-coated air-filled insulating glass.
Tinted Low-E Insulated Glass
Reduce the Glare with Aesthetically-Consistent ColorTinted low-E insulated glass presents a good solution to solar glare and thermal discomfort and provides a great combination of aesthetic appeal, energy savings and indoor comfort. The glare-reducing properties in tinted low-E insulated glass are part of the spectrally-selective coating. Therefore, unlike regular gray and bronze tinted glass, the aesthetically-consistent, bluish-grey color and performance are the same regardless of changes in glass thickness from smaller to larger windows.
High Performance Triple Coat Low-E
Insulated GlassBalance Solar Control and Visible Light High performance insulated glass with three low-E coatings delivers the ideal balance of solar control and high visibility. This glass provides the highest levels of year-round comfort and energy savings, making it the perfect glass no matter where you live. The secret is a triple layer of silver in the coating stack. It is formulated to reject solar heat while maintaining attractive visibility. It keeps the heat out while letting light in.
Sierra Pacific also offers a wide variety of glazing options to meet your requirements including:
Our interior simulite bars are made from clear Ponderosa Pine or Douglas Fir and are available in either Colonial or Contemporary profiles in three widths: 7/8", 1 5/16" or 2". Insulated units with simulite are standard with an internal shadow bar to give the appearance of authentic divided lites.
